Beginning on July 15, Walt Disney World announced changes to its virtual queue process for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios.
The most noticeable change comes with the opportunity for guests to access the virtual queue. To eliminate the need for guests to arrive early, guests can now access the virtual queue, subject to availability, at 10am, 1pm and 4pm. This is in line with Disney’s efforts to eliminate large crowd gatherings.
Here is what you need to do:
Before Arrival:
- Download the My Disney Experience App
- Turn on push notification in the My Disney Experience App
- Secure a Disney Park Pass reservation for Hollywood Studios
- Link your park ticket and those of everyone in your group under the guest who will be making the reservation
Once you enter Hollywood Studios:
- Log in to your My Disney Experience account
- On the Home Screen: Select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue”
- View the current status and follow steps to join the queue (If a time slot is not available the app will indicate so)
- Once notified through the push notification, proceed to the entrance within the hour. (We recommend not to wait until the last minute since this is a popular ride and technology is never perfect)
- Enjoy Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance!
Know Before You Go:
- Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee guests the opportunity to experience the Resistance
- Guests will only be allowed to experience the Resistance once
- Guests will have up to an hour from the time their alert is posted to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (so make sure your notifications are on)
