Disney released more sweet updates about the venues experiences that await guests sailing on the Disney Wish. The Disney Wish maiden voyage is set for July 14 and Disney has provided additional updates about the immersive experiences and venues that will welcome its guests. Here is what we learned today!
Joyful Sweets
This sweet shop, inspired by Inside Out, will boast 40 flavors of gelato and ice cream. Many of the decadent flavors, like peanut butter pretzel and white chocolate raspberry, will be handcrafted daily, along with whip cream and fruit compotes and sauces that will compliment a full array of toppings.
Colorful cupcakes will evoke the five emotions – Joy (lemon), Sadness (blueberry), Disgust (pistachio), Anger (red velvet) and Fear (bubble gum). Chocolate Memory Orbs filled with candy remembrances, specialty macaroons, cake pops, handcrafted truffles, designer cookies, brownies and candy will adorn this sweet shop and tempt everyone’s sweet tooth.
Olaf’s Royal Picnic
While on board the Disney Wish, guests will be able to join Olaf, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff for a summertime picnic in Arendelle during a premium entertainment experience designed for families with children ages 3 to 12. Guest will interact with their favorite characters and enjoy live musical performances of some “Frozen” favorites like “Let it Go”, “Fixer Upper”, and “In Summer”.
Baroness Dagmar Birgir, the lady-in-waiting to Queen Anna, will direct castle staff as they serve up a delicious summer picnic under a canopy of colorful flowers and festive décor. Children will receive several gifts including a reversible troll plush, themed picnic blanket, custom Nordic-style Mandalorian. There will be special proclamations and unexpected visitors as well!
Guests will need to reserve this event before their sailing for an additional fee. Disney did not release the fee, but I would venture this to be on par with the Disney Princess Tea experience.
Grand Hall
The Grand Hall will evolve from a gathering space into an enchanting theater through the magic of built-in special effects and the first ever atrium stage!
As guests arrive for the first time, every child will receive their very own wishing wand so they can make their “First Wish” during a special boarding celebration.
During the sailing families can attend royal gatherings of Disney Princesses as they descend into the Grand Hall to meet and greet guests.
The Grand Hall stage will host “Who’s Behind the Curtain?”, a playful game show where guests will answer questions to reveal the identity of hidden characters.
On the final night, guests will return to the Grand Hall to raise their wands with Fairy Godmother and enjoy a spectacular farewell show featuring favorite characters, special effects, and lively performances.
Luna
Luna is the brand-new entertainment hub that will bring families together to sing, compete and laugh together. Luna will be equipped with a two-story LED screen wall, stage, and bar and will be the central entertainment hub on the ship.
Luna will host “Villains Game Night”, a game show where guests will answer Disney trivia questions with Disney foes like Cruella de Ville, Gaston, Maleficent, and others who will join on screen.
“Disney Storybook” will put guest in the spotlight as they sing Disney songs and showcase their star talent for a live camera crew. Their performance will be projected on the big screen for everyone to enjoy!
Luna will host a grand finale event for Disney Unchartered Adventure, a new interactive experience that will use guests’ mobile devices to unlock hidden adventures aboard the ship. Families will team up with other guests to battle an infamous Disney villain.
Hero Zone
This new category of active family play is a futuristic sports arena themed after Pixar’s “Incredibles” bringing state of the art immersive experiences and free sport play to guests of all ages.
Hero Zone will host the Incredi-Games, a high energy game show featuring an elaborate obstacle course of over-the-top physical challenges inspired by The Incredibles.
Tots will be able to compete in the Jac Jack’s Incredible Diaper Dash where they will speed crawl across a 20-foot track to win the coveted title of Diaper Dash Champion!
I am not sure which experience I am more excited about and I already know we are going to picnic with our Frozen friends!
