Today Disney announced more details about the new Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, and we have all the details here! Hold on tight to your lightsaber – this is a lot to digest!
As most of you already know this is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where guests become part of the story. But what does this really mean? Disney is finally shedding some light and giving us a glimpse of this out of this world experience.
Guests will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s completely their own. The experience is part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game and more. Only guests and cast members will be allowed in the hotel so we know this will be unlike any other Disney World property – you will need a reservation to see what it’s all about!
Guests begin their adventure at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal, located at the Walt Disney Resort.
The moment the airlock slides open your world changes. Guests will take a launch pod to the Atrium. Guests will step off the launch pod and into their own story – where they decide their own fate. Will you follow the First Order or join the Resistance in a secret plot? Maybe you prefer to strike a deal with a gang of smugglers or sip a cocktail and watch the story unfold from a safter distance instead. There seems to be an option for everyone.
The Atrium will be a place to interact with characters, enjoy the captain’s reception, and view out of this world fireworks.
Datapad and Sample Itinerary
The Star Wars: Datapad experience will be available on your mobile device as part of the Play Disney Parks app. Guests can check their personalized itinerary as well as communications from the crew and others they may meet during their stay. Based on the choices you make you may be invited to secret meetings or adventures. Guests will be provided with a databand (aka magicband) to be used during your stay.
The specifics of each guests’ voyage will be unique and depend on the choices they make and the unexpected surprises each guest encounters, but here is a sample itinerary Disney provided:
Bridge and Lightsaber Training
Guests at least 7 years or older will be able to grab a lightsaber and face off against a remote training device in a new and exclusive lightsaber training session. Will this training help guests in some later part of the story – I know my family is dying to find out!
Guests will also explore and learn how the Halcyon bridge works directly from the crew. In this hands-on experience, crew members will teach guests how to navigate, power and use the defense and other critical systems that control the starcruiser. Will this knowledge be needed later in your mission – I wonder.
Costumes and Gala
Guests are encouraged to dress the part for their stay on the starcruiser. Guests may also wear clothing from their home planet – but what fun is that? Attire is not included in the stay and Disney recommends guests purchase Star Wars attire at shopDisney. I also recommend checking out Amazon and your favorite Halloween apparel stores – you might be able to snag some great deals when Halloween costumes go on sale.
In addition, the last night onboard will include a gala so guests are encouraged to pack their finest apparel for this very special event.
Galactic Dining
The dining options aboard the Halcyon are out of this galaxy. Guests will be able to mingle with characters and enjoy musical entertainment. Guests will have some amazing options to choose from and we can’t wait to see what is in store, but here is a sneak peek.
Daily Fuel – Breakfast and Lunch
Jedi’s will need to be ready for the day’s adventure with a full stomach. For breakfast guests will experience a unique off-planet breakfast of hot and cold small plates and a variety of beverages including Bubo Wamba Family Farms blue milk!
For lunch, guests will be able to choose from menu items including sandwiches, mini flatbreads, assorted salads, and sweets.
Dinner
On the first night, guests will dine at the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. This table service meal will include distinctive dining and musical experiences by galactic superstars. There is even an opportunity to eat at the Captains Table at an additional cost.
On the second night, guests will dine at the Taste Around the Galaxy showcase with cuisine inspired by the various destination planets throughout the galaxy like Mustafar, Felucia, Chandrila and Coruscant. Each course – appetizers, choice of entrée, and a specialty desert, will be served with a brief introduction including the dish name, inspiration, and ingredients.
Dinner options will come with a first or second seating option that can be selected, based on availability, when booking your vacation package.
Sublight Lounge
Guests will be able to sip a beverage and relax in the stylish Sublight Lounge. It is rumored that some guests might be conspiring with a charming smuggler or two or can catch a game of holo-sabacc. Note that alcoholic and specialty drinks will be at an additional charge.
Planet Excursion
Included in your story is a planet excursion to Batuu. Guests will board a transport to Black Spire Outpost where your story continues. Your adventures on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will play a part in your story back onboard the Halcyon. While on Batuu guests will also enjoy a meal at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or other select locations on Batuu (aka Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
Starcruiser Cabins
Every guest will need to rest and recharge for their daily adventures and the Halcyonprovides 100 cabins and suites for guests to choose from.
Standard Cabin
Standard Cabins come with furnishings and fixtures designed to ensure comfort while traveling throughout the galaxy—including a pullout table and a TV with entertainment from your home planet—and a window with a view out into space. (My family is super excited about this detail)

- Room Configuration: queen bed, 2 berths (bunk beds) for one adult each and a wall pull-down bed for one adult (if sleeping 5)

Galaxy Class Suites
For those who want to travel with a little more space, the one-bedroom Galaxy Class Suites feature a living space complete with an integrated seating area. These suites have a double vanity bathroom, bar area, 2 windows with views out into space and a few extra Star Wars surprises.

Grand Captain Suite
For those larger families or groups wanting to bunk together the two-bedroom Grand Captain’s Suites feature a posh living space complete with an integrated seating area. There is a master suite with a double vanity bathroom, a second bathroom with a single vanity, a bar area, 3 windows with views out into space and a few extra Star Wars surprises.

Pricing
Disney released some sample pricing. These prices are for most weeknights from August 20,2022 to September 17, 2022. With the launch date of Spring 2022 we will be watching closely for pricing to be released but for planning purposes this gives guests a good idea of what to expect.
Price based on a cabin room at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. The number of packages available is limited. All packages are a 2-night experience. Package includes entry to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for one (1) day on day 2 of your experience. This admission ticket expires at midnight prior to departure date and is nonupgradable, nontransferable, nonrefundable and excludes activities/events separately priced. Package includes two (2) breakfast, two (2) lunch and two (2) dinner meals per Guest, with gratuity included for dinners; and one (1) quick-service meal consisting of one (1) entrée and either one (1) nonalcoholic beverage or, if age 21 or over, one (1) alcoholic beverage (where available), or, for Guests ages 3 to 9, one (1) combo meal from the children’s menu offerings, to be used in the theme park only.
